Ghàrraidhean Mòra na h-Alba (Scotland’s Great Gardens)

Whether planting potatoes or cultivating herbaceous borders, the Scots have long been known as a nation of gardeners. In this series, green-fingered Murdo Macdonald visits some of the country’s most important designed-landscapes to reveal the fascinating story of Scotland’s gardening past.

From the famed Inverewe garden in Wester Ross to the concept garden Little Sparta in the Pentland Hills, the grandeur of Scone Palace Gardens in Perth and the productive and stunning Gordon Castle Walled Garden in Fochabers, Murdo will explore his favourite aspects of each and talk to the gardeners who look after them today and learn about their design, plant-life, setting and history.
